Heart of Creation Workshop

Friday, September 10- Sunday August 12th, 2010

Chatham Mills Retreat Center, Pittsboro NC

presented by Laurie Thorp and Chuck Cogliandro

All of us came into this life to bring a unique, exquisite gift of being. Some of us don't know what that gift is; some of us simply discern a deep ache inside because we have not yet opened to the fullness of our Being. Some of us have manifested part of our gift and brilliance in the world, yet sense ahead of us a next step we don't know how to take.

The focus of the Heart of Creation is to give you the space to explore your heart's longing and your life's sacred intention, and to provide support and safety in a dedicated field of purpose so that you can take specific steps to bring that gift into the world. By bringing the experiences, skills and self-knowing you have already cultivated in your life, you will be part of creating an energetic group vessel that provides spaciousness and support for you to be in the unknown, and that helps you discover and begin to heal the crystallized belief systems that have been obstacles to your heart's fulfillment in any area of your life.

In this workshop, our focus will be two-part. THE YES, BUTS... First we will focus on deepening your connection to yourself and reclaiming aspects of yourself which have been left behind, forgotten, hidden. You will explore the beliefs and "yes, buts" that hold you back and keep you from stepping fully into your Essence and bringing your Essence into the world.

We will then focus on the "Unconditional Yes" that supports you in manifesting your longing in this life. We will use a wide range of tools to help you remember and reconnect to your longing and to the truth of all that you are. You will explore how your energy field holds your creative impulse. You will work with your creative impulse which flows out from every cell and from the center of your heart. You will also work with your energy field to align with your purpose and to support you in manifesting that purpose. ELEMENTS OF THE WEEKEND will include cellular movement, meditation, journaling, poetry, lectures, hands-on energy work, and the creation of a living, rhythmic group mandala.

Laurie is a skilled and sensitive healer who brings compassion, safety and a high level of integrity to her work. She has been a healer and teacher for 16 years, and has been a member of the Faculty at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing since 1998. Laurie has a healing practice in North Carolina. Laurie is dedicated to the evolution of the human spirit. She is passionate about supporting people in discovering and following their longing and purpose in the world and in embracing all parts of themselves. It is through this genuine acceptance that we transform, heal and discover our true nature, our essential self, the brilliance of our own light. She is continually excited about exploring how our cellular system holds our history, our feelings, thoughts, beliefs and longings. Her work with cellular creation and manifestation is transformative and deeply healing.

Chuck's passion since he was a child has been drumming, and he has traveled his own unique path in manifesting his musical dreams. At age 24 Chuck retired from engineering, bought a Honda CB900 motorcycle, and roamed the United States, visiting 40 states while nurturing his decision to step into his real love: music. Since 1992, Chuck's professional life as a musician has included bringing people together in the shared joy of West African drumming. He has carved, built and repaired hundreds of drums, led many performing groups, helped organize and performed with the 100-member drum tribe in the Opening Ceremonies of the Atlanta Olympic Games, and made CD, commercial and soundtrack recordings. Chuck's longing has manifested through his gifts of bringing people together in joy and celebration. He has created many groups and gatherings for himself and others to come together in an environment of trust and sharing, in order to feel safe to have an open heart. Chuck is a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, deepening the healing work he has done with his hands through the drum. His healing philosophy includes an intention to honor each person's essence, and the knowing that each of us has the wisdom we need within. Chuck is the director of Kumandi Drums & Healing, and has a private healing practice in Atlanta.
